Introducing Loren, Monk's Newest On-Boarding Specialist

Over the years we’ve found that the first few weeks of a new site need a little extra attention. You need someone to ask your “quick questions” and help you brainstorm the best approach. We feel investing in your foundation will help you maximize your site’s full potential. We want you to feel comfortable and confident with your new site.

When you choose to go with an e360 Theme, the On-Boarding Specialist is your designated contact. The On-Boarding Specialist is there to walk you through the entire process – especially those crucial weeks leading up to your launch.

We’re excited to introduce Loren, Monk’s newest Customer Advocate and On-Boarding Specialist.

Loren has a BA in graphic design from Oklahoma State University. After college, Southern California’s sunny beaches were calling. She has lived in Orange County and San Diego since 2004. During her career, she worked in the Department of Defense and personal development industries, managing projects and customer support. When she’s not playing at the beach, you can find her kicking the soccer ball around, snowboarding, or backpacking.

What excites you most about your new position at MonkDev?

Helping people. I love knowing that when I go to work I will be able to serve churches and Christ centered organizations by helping them with their online ministries. It is truly a great feeling to be a part of an amazing team whose focus is to put people first. I also have a passion for technology and beautiful web design, so when I looked into the possibility of working at Monk, I could not have imagined a more perfect fit for me.

What skill do you hope to one day master?

For as long as I can remember, I have loved art. After dabbling in numerous forms of art, I found sculpting is the one that I find myself most passionate about. I love the process of imagining something beautiful when you look at a raw chunk of rock. There is great satisfaction after you’ve chiseled, chipped, filed, and polished rock into a piece of art. I wish I was able to spend more of my spare time sculpting. It would be amazing to try working on a life size sculpture some day. One of my favorite places to visit is a tucked away gem in Austin, TX called the Umlauf Sculpture Garden.

What’s your all-time favorite quote?

“This is what the past is for! Every experience God gives us, every person He puts in our lives is the perfect preparation for the future that only He can see.”

― Corrie ten Boom, The Hiding Place

So you worked for the Department of Defense? Any top secret stuff you can share with us?

If I told you, I’d have to kill you. Technically I worked for a contract company that worked on DoD Homeland Security projects. While on the job in DC, I was once pulled over and questioned by bike cops near the White House. They thought the camera mounted on the hood of our car looked suspicious. Go figure.

If a movie was made of your life, what genre would it be and who would play you?

My life movie would be an adventure comedy and I would definitely be played by a young Meryl Streep.

What's your LEAST favorite chore?

Scooping my cat’s litter box. I hate it so much that I am currently potty training her. Does this make me a crazy cat lady or what!?

What was your favorite TV show as a kid?

Saved By The Bell was my favorite, and I loved Zack Morris.

What else do we need to know about Loren?

I have a serious weakness for pie, I love Texas’ ‘big ole’ vast blue skies, and I have a soft spot for octogenarians.
