Meet the Newest Monk – Autumn Gossett!

It's always a good day when you're family grows a bit. That's why we're thrilled to welcome Autumn Gossett the MonkDev team. She'll be helping our CTO (Etienne de Bruin) and COO (James Martin) keep organized and on-track.

Here's a little more from Autumn, in her own words:

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself: Family, school, work, Team Edward or Team Jacob. You know, the vitals.

Hi, I'm Autumn. I live in San Diego with my husband of nearly 8 years and our three kids, ages three, two and one. No, that wasn't a typo. We're just that crazy!

I have a degree in Global Studies but have yet to find myself using it as I continue to work in the field of business administration. Maybe someday! Until then, I keep busy being a wife, mother, and now employee of Monk.

Team Edward or Team Jacob? Although I do get out of the house enough to know what that means, I must admit I have never read the Twilight series. I love to read and, if by some miracle I have enough time and energy in the day to do so, I refuse to read a vampire love story! Mostly because I would undoubtedly enjoy the books and then have the embarrassing task of admitting that.

2. What's one of your biggest pet peeves?

People who drive horribly, especially when I see it could all be avoided if they would hang up the cell phone!

3. If you were stranded on a desert island with one CD, one book, and one food item, what would they be?

I would probably choose a Postal Service CD, since being stranded on a desert island would require a constant state of melancholy.

The book would be a toss up between Pride and Prejudice and the Bible. Day-dreaming about Mr. Darcy all day, yes please! Ok, final answer? The Bible, as there is always something to learn.

My pre-vegan self would choose an In N' Out cheeseburger and animal style fries. But now that I have chosen a vegan diet, I'd say an authentic San Diego taco shop veggie burrito with extra guacamole.

4. You have a perfect Saturday to schedule. What's on the docket and why?

Sleeping in, because that is a fantasy all mothers of three kids (all under three) dream about. Next up with be a soy vanilla latte. Lucky for me my husband is an excellent barista. An afternoon spent playing with the kids and then dinner with friends or family would seal the deal on a perfect day!

5. What's the best part about being on the MonkDev team?

After being a stay-at-home mom for a few years, I am really enjoying using a different part of my brain in the work world :). What I really appreciate about Monk is the balance between a laid back San Diego attitude and a professional atmosphere. It makes for a very enjoyable, low-stress, encouraging, and ultimately happy work place!

You can see what she's up to on LinkedIn, or just leave her a note below. Please welcome Autumn!
