Great Christmas Church Creative from 2013

Christmas is such a wonderful time of traditions, fun gatherings, festive parties, and most importantly, the celebration of the birth of Jesus!

However, along with celebration comes planning and coordinating, especially for churches.

Since Christmas is such a busy and important time for churches, we want to celebrate some of the amazing work being done to communicate important holiday events.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite ways we’ve seen churches use their websites this Christmas season.

Video announcements

Biltmore Baptist Church

Biltmore did an excellent job of using video to announce their Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. Their Christmas video is a prime example of a great way to convey a large amount of information in a fun and appealing way. They covered all the important details of where to go, what to bring, and what to do when you get there, all in a lively and concise way. And they get bonus points for linking the video page to the coordinating Christmas banner on their homepage!

A guide to Christmas at the Church

FBC Allen

FBC Allen’s Christmas page not only gives information about Christmas Eve services but also serves as a complete guide to the Christmas season at their church. They’ve included a list of December events, the Christmas Worship Schedule, advice for keeping Christmas Christ-centered, and great advent resources for kids and adults, all in one place. This one-stop-shop layout is a great way to put people first and provide visitors with a pain-free experience when searching for Christmas information.

Easy invites and social media

Elmbrook Church

Elmbrook made it so easy to invite friends and family to their Christmas services, it’s practically a no brainer. They’ve conveniently placed simple call-to-action steps along with their Christmas Eve service information to prompt people to invite friends, family, neighbors and co-workers. They even have pre made graphics ready to be pinned on your Christmas Pinterest board!

Festive rotating banners

Rotating banners are a great way to communicate upcoming events and messages from your website’s homepage. Here are a few of our favorite Christmas themed rotating banners from this year.

Eagle Brook Church

GateWay City Church

Resurrection Life Church

Anchor & Kaleo Church

Calvary San Diego

Shadow Hills Church

First Presbyterian Church of Urbana

NewSpring Church

Eastland Baptist Church

Providence Baptist Church

Banners are especially effective and helpful when they are linked to a page that contains more information related to that subject.

The messaging for the Big Give initiative at Resurrection Life Church is a great example. The eye catching banner on the front page is clean and concise, but it’s clear that more information is just one-click away. A great solution for overly cluttered images and banners.

What ones did we miss? Let us know in the comments below.

And last but certainly not least...

Merry Christmas from all your friends at MonkDev!
